Interswitch has engaged education portal providers across Southwest Nigeria on ways to improve digital payment collection and strengthen payment systems in schools. The engagement was held at the inaugural Interswitch Connect: Portal Providers Edition at the Signature Hotel, Ibadan, bringing together education technology partners, portal providers and representatives of the payments company.

The forum focused on the evolving payment needs of schools and ways to improve payment collection and operational efficiency through digital technology. Participants examined the growing use of digital platforms for school administration, including admissions, school management and fee collection, as educational institutions increasingly adopt technology to manage their operations.

The stakeholders also discussed the need for closer collaboration between payment providers and education technology companies to address operational challenges and simplify payment processes. Such collaboration, participants noted, could improve the payment experience for schools, parents and students while supporting more efficient administration across the education sector.

Speaking at the event, Head of Digital Payments at Interswitch, Blessing Ogbonna, said the company was committed to working with ecosystem partners to develop payment solutions tailored to the education sector. She said continuous engagement with portal providers would enable Interswitch to understand their changing needs and strengthen payment collection across schools and education platforms, stressing that collaboration remained essential to delivering secure, reliable and seamless digital payment solutions.
