Nigerian cybersecurity and compliance technology company, Smartcomply, is set to showcase its digital security and risk management solutions at the GITEX Nigeria Startup Festival 2026 in Lagos, as the country’s rapidly expanding digital economy creates growing demand for stronger cybersecurity, regulatory compliance and fraud prevention systems. The company was selected through the ONDI and National Information Technology Development Agency, NITDA, startup delegation and will exhibit at the Landmark Centre in Lagos on September 2 and 3.

Smartcomply, founded in 2021, has developed technology designed to help organisations manage compliance requirements alongside cybersecurity and financial crime risks. Its solutions cover areas including anti money laundering, know your customer checks, fraud detection, vulnerability assessment, workforce security and compliance management. At GITEX Nigeria, the company is expected to demonstrate its Compliance Exposure Score, a tool designed to help organisations assess their preparedness across governance, third party risk, technical security and workforce capabilities.

The company’s participation comes at a time when Nigerian businesses are increasingly moving their operations online while facing more sophisticated cyber threats and growing regulatory demands. Smartcomply’s Chief Executive Officer, Gbemisola Osunrinde, said the meaning of compliance is changing as businesses increasingly need to determine whether their systems, employees, partners and transactions can be trusted, rather than simply focusing on meeting regulatory requirements. The company believes technology can help organisations manage trust and risk continuously rather than responding only when an audit or regulatory investigation occurs.

GITEX Nigeria 2026 is scheduled to hold from August 31 to September 3 across Abuja and Lagos, bringing together technology companies, startups, investors, government institutions and enterprise leaders. More than 1,000 startups are expected to participate, creating opportunities for Nigerian technology companies to connect with investors, potential customers and international partners. For Smartcomply, its appearance at the event provides an opportunity to demonstrate that indigenous Nigerian technology companies can develop solutions addressing some of the most pressing cybersecurity, compliance and digital trust challenges confronting businesses in Africa.
