The new Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, Prof. Segun Aina, has unveiled a five year technology driven reform agenda aimed at transforming the examination body into Africa’s most trusted and digitally advanced admissions institution by 2031. Aina, who assumed office on Monday, unveiled the roadmap titled JAMB 2031: Building Trust, Reducing Trauma.
The plan features seven major initiatives focused on improving transparency, service delivery and operational efficiency. Key measures include the introduction of a unified JAMB mobile application, a paperless enterprise wide digital administration system, an independent assessment of the board’s technology infrastructure and efforts to secure ISO 27001 information security certification.
Aina said the reforms would be anchored on five pillars: integrity, service, governance, technology and partnership. He added that JAMB would strengthen its digital infrastructure, improve data driven decision making, establish a unified customer service platform, enhance strategic communication and invest in staff development.
Aina, who succeeded Prof. Ishaq Oloyede after his decade long tenure, pledged to build on JAMB’s existing achievements while positioning the board as a global benchmark for technology driven examination administration. The 40 year old computer engineering professor became the board’s youngest substantive registrar following his appointment by President Bola Tinubu in May 2026.
