Nigerian fintech company OPay has officially inaugurated a new office in Jos, Plateau State, as part of its ongoing expansion drive to deepen financial inclusion and enhance service delivery across the country. The launch event, held on March 25, 2026, attracted community leaders, business owners, local merchants, and members of the company’s senior management team, underscoring the strategic importance of the new regional hub.

The company said the Jos office represents a deliberate step toward strengthening its presence closer to customers, with a focus on improving support for its growing network of agents and merchants. By establishing a physical footprint in Plateau State, OPay aims to boost customer engagement, enhance operational efficiency, and provide more responsive financial services tailored to the needs of individuals and small businesses in the region.

Speaking at the event, the Chief Operations and Technology Officer of OPay, Dotun Adekunle, emphasised the company’s customer centric approach, noting that the new office would enable deeper understanding of local needs while delivering faster, secure, and reliable financial solutions. He added that the expansion reflects OPay’s broader commitment to empowering underserved communities and driving wider adoption of digital payments across Nigeria.

Industry stakeholders say the development is expected to stimulate economic activity within the state by supporting local enterprises, improving access to financial tools, and creating employment opportunities. The move also reinforces OPay’s growing national footprint, as the company continues to leverage technology to bridge financial access gaps, having established itself since 2018 as a key player in Nigeria’s digital payments ecosystem under the regulatory oversight of the Central Bank of Nigeria and the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.
