NativeID has unveiled a free digital identity platform aimed at helping Nigerian small and medium enterprises consolidate their business credentials into a single verified gateway, as concerns grow over impersonation and online fraud targeting businesses on social media. The platform seeks to close what experts describe as a widening trust gap in Nigeria’s digital economy, where scammers frequently clone legitimate business pages to intercept payments and mislead customers.

The new solution provides entrepreneurs with a unified digital identity through a single verified link that houses essential business information, including contact numbers, addresses and social media accounts. By eliminating fragmented contact details scattered across platforms such as Instagram, Google listings and WhatsApp profiles, the system is designed to make it easier for customers to confirm the authenticity of a business and avoid falling victim to fraudulent clone accounts.

According to the company, the introduction of a verified identity layer could save Nigerian businesses billions of naira annually by reducing impersonation related losses and improving customer conversion rates. Industry estimates suggest that up to 15 to 20 percent of revenue can be lost when customers mistakenly transact with fraudulent pages, while structured digital identity tools could also cut customer acquisition losses by reducing lead drop off and simplifying communication between businesses and potential clients.

The platform also introduces QR code integration, direct call and email shortcuts, and a multi branch mapping system that allows companies with several locations to manage their presence from a single digital profile. By providing a structured and verifiable home for business data, NativeID hopes to help Nigerian enterprises move beyond the informal era of scattered online identities toward a more secure digital marketplace where trust is verified rather than assumed.
