The JayTee Ojo Foundation Sports Academy (JOFSA) is set to make waves in the Nigerian football game as it prepares for an intense competition in the Nigeria Nationwide League Two (NLO 2).
With the principal aim of securing promotion to the Nationwide League One (NLO 1), the team is heading into the competition with renewed vigour, backed by the solid support and sponsorship of the JayTee Ojo Foundation.
Founded as part of the JayTee Ojo Foundation’s wider mission of youth empowerment and community development, JOFSA has appeared more than just a football team, as it has become a platform designed to give young talented players chances to hone their talents and showcase their skills on a competitive stage as well as launching them fully into professional football careers.
The squad, had on Sunday, departed from Ekiti State for Ileogbo, Osun State, where they will face five determined opponents at their designated league centre. The atmosphere in the camp is charged with optimism, as players and officials prepare rigorously for their opening fixture against the formidable Elebuibon Boyz on August 10, 2025.
Established in 2019, the JayTee Ojo Foundation has over the years made huge investments in human capital development, particularly in the area of education, technology, and sports. Sports, in particular, have been used as a tool to create and enhance discipline, teamwork, and self-confidence among young and talented people in Ekiti State and beyond.
The foundation through its sponsorship of the JayTee Ojo Queens, a women’s football team that participates in grassroots tournaments and local leagues, has already made a mark in female football and now with their male counterpart’s push in NLO 2, the foundation continues to expand its sports footprint to a more competitive and nationally recognised stage.

According to a statement made available to the press, the founder of the JayTee Ojo Foundation, Otunba Taiwo Ojo, the resolve of the Non-Governmental organization is not just about competition, it is about creating opportunities for personal growth, community pride, and social cohesion. He explained that foundation believes in using sports to tackle youth unemployment, promote healthy lifestyles, and channel energy into positive ventures.
He explained that the effort aligns with the foundation’s other initiatives in ICT training, where hundreds of youths and teachers in Ekiti State have been equipped with digital skills, given free laptops, empowering and enabling them to compete in the global tech market, saying the same principle of equipping young people with tools for success underpins JOFSA’s approach to football.
As the NLO 2 competition kicks off, the stakes are high and promotion to NLO 1 would not only raise the team’s profile but also solidify the JayTee Ojo Foundation’s position as a serious player in Nigerian grassroots sports development.

The choice of Ileogbo, Osun State as the competition venue means that JOFSA will be playing in an unfamiliar environment, but management has expressed confidence in the players’ ability to adapt quickly, saying that the foundation has invested in adequate preparation, ensuring the team travels with all necessary logistics in place.
Training sessions in the run-up to the tournament have focused on set-piece execution, ball retention, and pressing without the ball as many of the players are seeing the tournament as a career-defining moment, with chances to catch the eye of scouts, agents, and higher-division clubs.
Beyond football, the foundation says it is using the NLO 2 campaign as an avenue to inspire young people across Ekiti State, showing that with proper support, local talents can compete on the national stage as it is part of the long-term vision to establish a structured sports academy in Ekiti State, complete with training facilities, accommodation, and educational support for athletes.
As matches unfold in Ileogbo, in the coming days, the JOFSA Kings will be seeking to convert months of preparation into on-field results. If successful in their bid for NLO 1 promotion, their achievement will stand as a testimony to the foundation’s holistic approach to youth empowerment, bridging the gap between community development and professional sports.
