Apple has officially integrated OpenAI’s ChatGPT into its devices, a move expected to redefine user interactions and potentially boost sales of its new iPhone models during the holiday season. This update, introduced on Wednesday, brings AI-powered features to Apple’s latest operating systems for iPhones, iPads, and Macs, signaling a pivotal moment in the company’s artificial intelligence strategy.
The integration enables Siri, Apple’s voice assistant, to leverage ChatGPT’s advanced capabilities, offering users seamless support for tasks such as analyzing photos, refining documents, and generating creative content. Additionally, a new Writing Tools feature allows users to create written content within supported apps, while ChatGPT’s image generation capabilities can enhance visual projects. These features are designed to make Apple’s devices more effective as productivity tools.
The ChatGPT integration is available on the latest iPhone 16 models and select earlier versions, including the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max. It also supports iPads with A17 Pro or M1 chips and newer Macs powered by M1 chips or later versions.
