Open Access Data Centres Lagos has reaffirmed its support for Nigeria’s data protection and digital transformation agenda through its sponsorship and active participation in the National Privacy Week Summit organised by the Nigeria Data Protection Commission. The summit brought together policymakers, regulators, technology providers, and industry stakeholders to deepen awareness of data privacy, strengthen compliance with the Nigeria Data Protection Act, and advance national conversations on data security, sovereignty, and responsible governance.

By supporting the summit, OADC Lagos demonstrated its alignment with the Federal Government’s push for local data hosting and data domiciliation, which are increasingly seen as critical to protecting sensitive information, improving regulatory compliance, and building trust in Nigeria’s growing digital economy. The company’s involvement highlighted the role of infrastructure providers in translating policy goals into practical, secure digital systems.

Operating a carrier neutral, Tier Three Design certified data centre in Lekki, Lagos, OADC provides secure and resilient infrastructure that enables government institutions and private sector organisations to host and manage data locally, while adhering to international best practices. This capability supports national efforts to retain data within Nigeria’s borders and reduce exposure to external risks.

Speaking on the engagement, Adesola Adesugba, country marketing manager of Open Access Data Centres Nigeria, said the company was proud to support the NDPC and stand with government in advancing Nigeria’s digital transformation objectives. She noted that strengthening local data hosting and domiciliation remains fundamental to national data sovereignty, improved security, and sustainable digital growth.

OADC’s participation at the National Privacy Week Summit further underscores its position as a trusted digital infrastructure partner to both government and enterprise, supporting secure cloud connectivity, regulatory compliance, and the long term development of Nigeria’s digital ecosystem. Open Access Data Centres is part of the WIOCC Group and operates open access, world class data centres across Africa, serving cloud providers, network operators, enterprises, and public sector institutions.
